Love Yourself

I have decided that my favorite type of a session is a boudoir session.   I know it  sounds kind of odd but let me share a few thoughts with you. 

Even though many ladies book a session for that significant other, in the long run it really is about her.  She is the person posing in lingerie and opening herself to a new experience.  She is the one facing what she sees as her flaws but making the most out of what nature has given her.  She is the one learning that while she may not be perfect, she sure is a sexy creature that can seduce a camera with a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her lips.   I love when she sees her images and realizes…perfect she may never be but that’s OK.  Perfect is boring and that woman in those pictures she just took is anything but boring!

I feel that boudoir is a liberating experience, a celebration of being  an imperfect beautiful person and working with the gifts that you have been given.  I say, ” love yourself and capture that love with a sexy little picture!”

Some Sundays are meant to be days where you get in your comfy pj’s and work on editing.  That has been my day.  Today we are working on Tara and Jason, who had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Historic Kinloch.  I have absolutely fallen in love with this image and wanted to share.    Thanks guys for letting us be a part of your life.

My Day Just Got Brighter

 As some of you guys may know, we are currently in Dallas and man is it hot here.  It’s hot, our days are packed full of business related trips and I’m just tired.  The type of tired that makes you want to hide in your room and lock the door.  Lucky for me I just got the best pick me up and thought I would share.

 

We were very happy to be a part of a VIP Bride contest for The Richmond Bridal Showcase January event.  Kathleen was the lucky winner.  As part of her prize package, she received a free bridal portrait from ModernWED.  Our shoot day was one of the first crazy hot days of June and Kathleen and her mom were such great troopers…never once showed the heat.

 

Today while out running around, I received an email letting us know that we had a new review at the Wedding Channel.  Curiosity had me pulling it up on my phone.  The next thing I know my eyes get a little misty and my smile got huge and I’ll even admit to a little giggle of joy.  I was so touched I just wanted to share.

I actually won a photoshoot with ModernWed through a local radio station. I wasn’t planning on doing a bridal session, but I figured I’d go for it now that it didn’t have to come out of my budget. I wasn’t expecting too much service because it was free, but WOW they blew me away. They couldn’t have been nicer or easier to work with. Sherry was my contact person and the one to shoot my bridal portraits and she’s fantastic. The photos make me look better than I ever thought I could and Sherry made me feel comfortable through the whole thing even though it was almost 100 degrees outside. She delivered a poster sized bridal portrait very quickly so I could have it for my wedding and even called a month after the wedding just to make sure we were happy with the photo and the service we’d received. If I could give them 6 stars I would. 

From The Ice Cold To The Steamy Heat

Had a great morning working with Tara and Jason.  They are huge Caps fans.  So of course, we wanted to make them freeze their butts off on a the ice (thanks IceZone ).  Jason’s head actually melted the ice!

Next up, how about heating things up a little.  Sure it was mid morning but we were still feeling the 90+ heat.  These guys were such great sports about it all.
